Recent Purchases

Over the past couple of weeks since I've been home I've been working back at Topshop again, well Topman this time. This only means one thing, I get my discount back!! (Plus seeing all my beautiful friends from work of course!) And my discount only means one thing: Shopping! So I thought I would share with you some of my recent purchases from Topshop! :) I also managed to get some bargains in the sale.
Top, £28

Blousey, jackety, waistcoaty thing, £35

Skirt, was £35, now £20

Playsuit, was £38, now £18

Nottingham has also got some amazing vintage shops, so although I'm on a student budget I couldn't resist treating myself. Two of my favourite shops in Nottingham are Cow Vintage and Wild Clothing, both situated in the Hockley area. Here are some of my vintage finds over the last couple of months:

Christmas Windows

So I know this is a tad late, but I went on a little day trip to London with my course about a month ago now, and I just wanted to share with you some of the photos I took. The window displays and all the visual merchandising in the shops are looking amazing at this time of year with copious amounts of glitter and snow and sparkle and all things festive. Here are a few of my favourite windows from Harrods, Harvey Nichols and Selfridges!

P.S Merry Christmas!

Bottled Water Project

So over the Christmas holidays, its not all going to be about drinking and eating as much as I can, I have actually got some work to do! Our next project is to write a marketing report about entering the bottled water industry and introduce and design a new bottled water for a brand of our choice. So after many different ideas and deliberations I had a brainwave whilst in bed last night and I am going to do Benefit Cosmetics. I think they've got some great visuals and a quirky brand image which I could do a lot with. So now that's decided, I need to actually start writing this thing! Wish me luck!

Mood Boards

Yayyy! So after much stressing and sweating (well not that much really, I'm a little over-dramatic) I have finally managed to upload my photoshop moodboards. So as described in my previous post these are pieces that went in my portfolio and they are based on make-up.
I have also added the magazine article that I wrote about the general trade of upgrading. Enjoy!

Ok, so here goes, my first ever blog! scary stuff!

So I have just come home for Christmas after my first term at Uni. A whole 3 months of crazy drinking, partying, socialising, eating crap food and doing the occasional bit of work. Of course I jest, I have actually, surprisingly done a lot of work, contrary to my expectations of my first year at uni! So I am now home, and its terribly quiet, therefore I thought this would be the perfect time to start my blog!

Now I've got to be honest with you, I had never really followed or even read a blog before we got it drummed into us in our first week of lectures that we should have one, as there are 10 year olds out there who are more technically advanced than we are. So I thought I should get with the times! So this blog is going to be my outlet for all the things I'm thinking about and seeing at the moment, hopefully relating to fashion and my course... but I may go off on a tangent sometimes!

So as I said I am at Uni studying Fashion Marketing and Branding, which I absolutely love! I feel like I've learnt so much already, and everyone says the first year is for dossing! But on my last day of term I had a scary deadline for my first portfolio, and although it was rather stressful getting it all together, and printing everything off (I hate printers) and working out how to arrange things and blah blah (I hate computers) I managed to get it in and what a relief it was! So I thought I would share a couple of pieces from my portfolio with you.... Well I did think I was going to until my silly computer which doesn't have photoshop said I cant upload them, grrr! I was going to show you the moodboards I made based on the themes of Wit and Humour and Purity and Innocence, but its not going to happen now! So I am very sorry and I will try and sort out my technical difficulties ( like I said, I hate computers).

So thank you for reading my first ever post, wasn't it gripping!? Until next time.
