Yesterday I took a little day trip up to London for the day. Myself, my mum and my brothers girlfriend went up for a girly day to see the campest musical you could ever imagine, Priscilla Queen of the Desert. I am a HUGE musical theatre geek and love a bit of cheese and drama, so Priscilla was perfect. Going to the theatre is a bit of a hobby for me and my mum and we try to do it whenever we have the chance, it also means a day of shopping, sightseeing and drinking coffee in quirky cafes! We went to Neals Street and Covent Garden for a bit of a wander first and to see my favorite area Neals Yard. Its got some gorgeous little shops and cafes and is generally really cool looking.
We also happened to see Gareth Malone (the dude who did that choir programme) filming his new documentary in the middle of Covent Garden, along with that crazy Caribbean lady who always cooks on This Morning! So I got my daily dose of celebrity, as I always happen to see someone famous when in London!
There were some lovely window displays at the moment, mostly revolved around Valentines Day:
Finally we headed off to the theatre! If you haven't heard of it or seen the film, Priscilla Queen of the Desert is about 3 drag queens in Australia on a journey from Sydney to Alice Springs. It was absolutely hilarious and I would definitely recommended seeing it, only if you love a bit of cheese though! The costumes, designed by Tim Chappel and Lizzy Gardiner were absolutely amazing, you have to see them to believe them!! Obviously I couldn't take any photos of the performance but here are a few inside the theater and then a video I found on YouTube which will show you exactly what its all about!!
