A shopping spree and rather dodgy outfit pics...

Against my better judgement (and current clothes ban) I went and did something very naughty. I broke my ban and took full advantage of the 20% discount voucher for New Look I got from last weeks Grazia! It was too good to resist really as I had seen some lovely things in there recently. After a mammoth try on, I managed to whittle down my choices to 3 pieces.

Berry Skirt- £24.99

Mustard Dress- £24.99

Blazer- £34.99
I also had to pop into Primarche for a little look at the jewellery and managed to pick up these lovely feather earrings for a bargain £1.99. Feathers are everywhere so I thought I would join in the craze, especially as these ones had my favourite turquoise stone on as well!

On another note, I always attempt to do outfit posts but I find it so hard finding the right location/pose/camera to use. I tried doing it in my mirror, on timer and on my laptop but they just always end up looking crap! So many of your blogs have gorgeous outfit posts which make me jealous. I really want to start doing outfit posts as I love looking at them on other blogs! Any advice to help me out? :)

Style Inspiration

Hello lovelies, hope you've all had a good week! Just a quick one today of some gorgeous pictures that are inspiring me at the moment, courtesy of my favourite website ever, weheartit.com. The shops are telling me that summer is over with all the autumn clothes in at the moment, but I want to hold on to summer for just a little while longer! Enjoy :)

PR Work Experience and London Life

As I mentioned in a previous post, I was lucky enough to gain 2 weeks work experience in the Arcadia Press Office on Oxford Street. I was imagining an Ugly Betty/Devil Wears Prada kind of office with bitchy women all tottering around in heels and eating a few salad leaves for lunch. However, everyone was so friendly and chilled out and seemed to enjoy their jobs. I was assigned to the Burton and BHS brands within the office and spent most of my time sending out clothes for magazine shoots and picking out things from store and reading magazines to see if any of our products had been used. I was surprised by how much responsibility they gave me, I was thinking I was gonna spend the 2 weeks stuffing envelopes and filing but I actually did some good jobs, including writing a little press release! The office itself was really cool with what they called the 'cupboard' containing all the new season clothes for all the brands, which they send out for different magazines and television shows. It was so cool seeing all the new stuff before it hit store, and I even managed to bag a few freebies from all the stuff they throw out to make way for the new things! :) Unfortunately I didn't manage to get any photos as they weren't allowed inside the office! This is the only one I got, a picture of my swipe card...thrilling, I know!

On another note, I absolutely loved living in London briefly and its made me realise that I want to work in the big smoke when I finish Uni. Although travelling around is super stressful and everywhere always seems to be packed, I love that there is always something going on and so much to do! I managed to do a little bit of shopping whilst I was there, although I found Oxford Street shopping very stressful. I also got a few pics of the new Selfridges window displays which were really fun! hmmm maybe I should do visual merchandising as my next work experience....!

Would you like a spoon of mustard with that?

Mustard, it seems to have featured heavily in my life over the last few weeks. First of all I made the discovery that I actually like the taste of it after refusing to eat it my whole life just because it looked incredibly weird! However I accidentally had it in a sandwich a few weeks ago and discovered that the flavour I enjoyed so much in it was, in fact, the dreaded mustard! However my new found love only lasted a week or two after starting work at a pub and on the first day the crazy landlady made me eat a teaspoon of mustard to prove that I didn't need to put so much in a dish because it had such a strong taste and we had 'no idea how much it cost her!' Child abuse if you ask me! After that very hungover spoonful of mustard I thought I was going to throw up, which ended my brief love affair with the condiment. However, the mustard colour has come into my life again with it now being my favourite colour for clothing. Having a look around the shops, it is everywhere and I love it! I think its a really flattering colour for my skin tone and I need to get my hands on some! Here are a few of my favourite picks from the high street.

Work, Work and Work Experience

If you read my previous post you will know that I  have been desperately needing a job to repay all the money that I spent while I was travelling. Well good news, I have got my job back at Topshop/Topman and I am also working in a pub! The dollar will soon be rolling in! Also, I have some amazing news, I got a phone call a couple of days ago from Arcadia Head Office and they offered me 2 weeks work experience in the Oxford Circus office in the PR and Events department!! I am sooooo excited! This is exactly what I want to do, and what better place to do it than with Arcadia! Although this means that I will not be getting paid work for 2 weeks and I'm gonna have to pay nearly £20 a day to travel up to London, so any money I make now will have to go on my train fares! But its an offer too good to refuse! I start on Monday and cant wait to tell you all about it! Hopefully there will be some inside goss and future fashion trends I can share with you! Now the only thing I need to worry about is what to wear each day!

I'm Home- Europe Trip Revealed

Hello ladies and gents, I have finally returned from my travels and it feels like I haven't been anywhere near my blog in aaages!! Very neglected! Hi to any new followers, sorry you haven't had any action from me yet but I hope everyone is well! Anyway, I thought I would do a little post about my travels so this may be a picture heavy post, just to warn you! I had an absolutely amazing time, although it has left me very skint and I cant seem to find a job for summer at the moment so not great right now, but it was worth it! We pretty much stuck to our original plan of which countries to go to, with only a few changes. Heres what happened...

Started off in Amsterdam, we only stayed for 2 nights and didnt really do much to be honest, just settling in to the whole travelling thing and getting used to staying in hostels with smelly boys and lugging 15k backpacks around. But Amsterdam was beautiful, the canals are amazing but unfortunaely the weather wasnt great whilst we were there.

We then took a very long train journey to Berlin, which took about 7 and a half hours, which we were dreading to begin with but it was actually quite fun and went extremely quickly! Berlin was wicked, a really cool city. There was loads to do there with lots of nice restaurants and bars.

The yummiest Mexican restaurant ever!

We then headed down to Prague which I have to say was one of my favourite cities, despite the fact I was quite ill while we were there, I still absolutely loved it. There is so much beautiful architecture and history in the city. We also managed to wangle a huge apartment all to ourselves, for like 15 euros a night, bargain!!

We then went down to Bratislava, which was really pretty but very small for a capital city with not much going on, but it was nice to visit. I watched the film Eurotrip yesterday... if you've seen it you will know what I mean! I think that was a bit exaggerated though!!

Next stop: Budapest, my favourite city of the whole trip!! I absolutely loved this city, it was so cool with loads of wicked bars and clubs and sooo cheap! You can get a glass of wine for 90p!!! There was also the outdoor baths which were amazing! If you ever go you have to go to a bar called Szimpla, literally the coolest bar ever!

From Budapest we had an 18 hour overnight train down to Split in Croatia, which was the wierdist and funniest experience ever, I cant even begin to explain it! But it was amazing arriving in Croatia as we finally had some boiling hot beach weather, like being on a proper holiday! We also managed to see Brendan from Coach Trip filming a new series while we were there, a personal highlight of mine!!

We then caught ferries to a couple of different islands from Split, we first went to Brac. It is quite a small and quiet island which was a nice break for us, and we got a private apartment with air con!! the best thing ever! The town was absolutely stunning though!

The second island we went to was Hvar, which I thought was a bit like a mini St Tropez! It was a really posh place with lots of very rich people holidaying there on their private yachts! The beaches were stunning and the sea was so clear. There's also a really cool, but expensive, bar there called Carpe Diem, and we also managed to get invited onto a private boat party which was hilarious!

From Hvar we made the long journey up to Ljubljana in Slovenia. Despite not being able to pronounce it the whole time this city was also gorgeous, with a river running right through the middle and lots of beautiful architecture to see.

We then took a short train ride to Lake Bled, which I have to say is one of the most beautiful places I have seen, it was absolutely stunning, and so nice to be out of a city for a while and do different things like hire bikes and go on toboggans, great fun!

Next we spontaneously decided to go to Salzburg because we had 2 days we needed to fill and it was the most convenient place to stop between Slovenia and Munich! It was raining the whole time we were there so we didn't get to see that much of the city, instead we opted to go to a brewery. Although I'm sure its beautiful in the sun, I don't think there is a lot to do there unless you can afford to fork out the 35 euros to go on the Sound Of Music tour!

Our final stop was Munich. This was a really cool city with plenty to do, unfortunately we only had one night there, but we managed to do a lot in the time we were there.

Sorry this turned out to be a lot longer than planned, hope you didn't get bored! But there you have it, my Europe trip in a nutshell! I had an amazing time and would definitely recommend doing the same thing to anyone, you will have the time of your life!

Oh yea... and one more thing, I hate to have to say this but I have a confession to make. Anyone who read my previous posts will know that I was planning on doing a clothes ban for 3 months because I have simply got too many clothes. Well... I kind of broke it! But only slightly! I bought a couple of things when I was away. They were in the sale and really cheap, it would of been a travesty if I didn't buy them, and it was on the last day and I had some euros leftover, so what better way to spend them, right!?

I just got 2 things from H and M, which is EVERYWHERE in Europe.

Let me know if you have been to any of these places and what you thought! I will go back to talking about fashion in my next post as there has been too much holiday talk recently!. Until next time.. xx
