My Top A/W Trends

Now I am not normally one to wish summer away, but it has come to that time of year when I am ready to look forward to the next season and what new trends will be key for Autumn/ Winter 2012. The British summer seems to have been and gone within a week and I am not too hopeful for the remaining, therefore I am beginning to to decide what trends are going to be key for me!

1) All about the waist

One of the trends seen on the catwalks this season is the focus on the waist. It is all about tailored curves to give an hourglass figure, or the illusion of one! This is such a flattering shape and never goes out of fashion. But A/W is about taking it that step further and accentuating your feminine figure.

Rodarte

Dior

Fendi

Acne
2) Oriental

With everyone now travelling all over the world and discovering new clothing and local designs it is no wonder that the oriental trend plays a huge part in A/W fashion. The Eastern inspired trend uses rich, oriental prints and motifs and beautifully cut kimonos, dresses and jackets. A trend that makes you feel like you are on holiday wherever you are!

Zac Posen

Proenza Schouler

Balmain
3) Trousers, trousers, trousers

This has to be my favourite trend for A/W. It's all about the trousers, whether they are slouchy, skinny, tailored or mannish. I have recently discovered a big love for trousers, especially high waisted, slouchy styles. The style for this season to stand out from the rest lies in the sumptuous fabrics and elegant shades adorning the catwalks.

OOTD: Black and Yellow

Another outfit post, I'm on a roll! Another simple outfit of what I wore today. The weather this week has been incredible! I managed to top up my holiday tan a bit with lots of sunbathing and picnics in between my shifts at the pub. This seems to be my current go to outfit, its perfect for when its warm, but  not boiling, so was perfect for a day of shopping and picnics.
I am doing a car boot sale tomorrow, starting at 6.30am!!! I better sell lots of things! I have a ridiculous amount of clothes that have been sitting under my bed and I have been meaning to do something with for months. So hopefully I will finally get rid of them and earn some cash!

OOTD: Floral and Black

Here we go, I said I would do it! Finally got round to doing an outfit post again! As I have mentioned before I am so rubbish at doing outfit posts and never seem to get round to doing them. But here we go, here is just a simple outfit of what I wore yesterday when summertime in England finally began! However, I was caught a bit unaware and didn't quite realise how hot it was going to be, so the tights and boots combo was a massive fail (they soon came off!) I just had a day of shopping with the parents, followed by a picnic in the park then sunbathing and bbq in the garden. The perfect summery Sunday!

Dress- ebay-£3.99!! (originally Topshop) Jacket- Topshop, Boots- River Island, Hat- ASOS, Watch- Fossil

I will definitely start to do some more outfit posts from now on, looking at these ones though, I think I need to perfect my poses a bit more first!

Review- LP Skin Therapy Multi-Task Day Cream

Some of you may have seen my post a couple of weeks ago about my work experience at Kilpatrick PR and I mentioned that I got a few samples at the end of it, which I have been experimenting with since! After a couple of weeks of trying and testing I have discovered my favourites and my number 1 absolute favourite has to be the LP Skin Therapy Multi-Task Day Cream.

The range comes from Dr Linda Papadopoulos, a well-known psychologist and leader in the field of psychodermatology who you may of seen on This Morning a few times! She believes you need to listen to your skin and that there is a direct link between how you feel and how you look. The range is wholly about treating the internal factors as well as the external.

It is described as a "hard working day cream packed with vitamins, peptides and ingredients containing nootropics. Enhances skin's elasticity and firmness helping skin appear fresher and more youthful." Doesn't that sound lovely! And it really does work! I have been using this product every morning after cleansing for nearly 2 weeks now and I have noticed a huge difference in my skin. Not only does the cream just feel wonderful and smell amazing when you first put it on, but the results really last. My skin generally looks healthier, more glowing and more even.

Despite the relatively steep price for a student budget of £35 I would say that it is definitely worth it, and it will last you a long time! Now I just need to save up to purchase the rest of the range, if its all as good as the day cream I am going to be a convert for life!

LP Skin Therapy Multi-Task Day Cream is available from LP Skin Therapy online

New Bargains

I am not normally one for shopping in Next and always seem to pass it by when on a shopping trip, however, I found myself being dragged around the shops by my Mum (for a change) this weekend and first stop was Next, and to my shock I was pleasantly surprised! The seasons sales have started and Next have an amazing one on. The branch I visited consisted wholly of sale stock and there were so many great things, I could of spent hundreds! I managed to limit myself (kind of) and got some great new buys which were all absolute bargains!!

Blazer- reduced from £55 to £25- literally in love with this, it  is  the perfect blazer and perfect for my upcoming work experience!

Top- reduced from £22 to £10- this photo doesn't do it justice at all!

Wedges- reduced from £35 to £14! These are the comfiest things ever and I think will be the perfect shoes to wear for an upcoming wedding

Navy heels- reduced from £36 to £16! These are also super comfy and will replace the pair of navy heels which recently broke on me!
I will have to do a few outfit posts wearing these items as the photos do not really do them justice! I keep meaning to do some, just never seem to get round to it, so watch this space!

Beauty PR Internship

I have just finished a fabulous week working as an intern at Kilpatrick PR. The beauty PR company has so many amazing clients from ModelCo Tan to Champneys and everything in between. The all-girl office is exactly how you would imagine a beauty PR office with the walls lined with beauty products- heaven for any beauty lover! I started my week off by writing press releases and scouring magazines for A/W beauty trend inspiration. I was also given the tasks of making goody bags for some lucky journalists at upcoming events and sorting out the dreaded 'cupboard' which anyone who has done an internship anywhere will know is the thing of nightmares! However, the cupboard was surprisingly tidy and I realised it is much easier to tidy up lotions and potions than it is to hang up clothes! All the girls who work there do an amazing job and I really enjoyed my week. It has made me realise that maybe a career in beauty PR rather than fashion PR is for me. Plus at the end of the week I was allowed to fill two bags full of products to take away with me! Best shopping trip ever! Be sure to see some reviews coming up soon of my favourite products. If only I had the budget for them all the time, scared I am going to get addicted!
