Outfits of the Year

I have put together a little post of all my outfits from the year. I can't believe how quickly this year has gone, but also how much has happened in a year (standard cheesy New Year chat). But anyway, this has been the year that I have really got into blogging and had so many great opportunities and met so many lovely people through my blog. So this is just a look back at some of my posts and acts as a nice round up of my outfits through the year! Happy New Year to all!

Khaki and Sparkles

Christmas has been a bit of a whirlwind, it has gone so quickly and I feel like I haven't really done anything before I have to head back to uni in under a week! I had a lovely, quiet Christmas with the family, enjoying doing absolutely nothing and eating way too much, of course! My main present this year was a fab new camera! Since I have been blogging, I realised that everyone has an amazing camera and produce some stunning photos, and my little Panasonic just wasn't cutting it. I would love an SLR, however, I hate the idea of having to carry around a big bulky thing around my neck all the time and they are just SO expensive. So I tried to find the best of both worlds. A compact camera but with a great lens and many 'instagram-like' settings! So I tested out my new toy with on this outfit post. This is what I wore to go up to London the other day. I saw the Tim Walker exhibition at Somerset House, which was absolutely stunning. I have always been a big fan of Walker and seeing all of his work together was fantastic. If you haven't been already, I would definitely recommend!

Now I just need to work out how to get the horrible date off the bottom of the photo!

Beauty Review: Macadamia Oil

Hair oils are suddenly everywhere. Ever since Moroccan Oil hit the shelves a couple of years ago there have been numerous products created to rival it. I must admit I am a convert to L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil and it has become one of my all time hero products. However, I was given a little sample of the Macadamia Oil and Macadamia Deep Repair Masque in the Bbloggers Christmas Party goody bag and I may have found a new rival! I am a big fan of hair masks and cannot get enough of Aussie 3 minute Miracle, but the Macadamia mask was also gorgeous. The smell was delicious, leaving my hair smelling wonderful right through until my next wash. The mask is left on for up to 10 minutes then rinsed off to revive dry and damaged hair, which is exactly how I would describe my hair at the moment during the winter months. The mask uses a combination of macadamia oil and argan oil, aswell as tea tree oil, chamomile oil, aloe and algae extracts. All these ingredients work together to rejuvenate the hair and leave it super shiny and conditioned.

I also used the Healing Oil Treatment which can be used on damp hair after washing, or dry hair after styling like a serum. I tend to use mine on damp hair. The oil, aswell as smelling delicious, made my hair feel really soft, nourished and shiny. It is also really good at beating frizz, which is always an issue during these rainy months.

I would 100% recommend the Macadamia range for dry or damaged hair, or even if your hair just needs a little bit of moisture and revival. The only drawback for me would be the price, the hair oil retails at £29.95 for 125ml and the mask, £23.95 for 250ml. However, I have a tiny 10ml bottle which I have used 3 times already and it is still pretty much full, so it will last you forever! There are many other products on the market that do a fantastic job, such as the L'Oreal Elvive hair oil and Aussie 3 Minute Miracle and are a lot cheaper. But if you fancy a bit of luxury in your life, Macadamia is the way forward.

Military Glitz

I am home! Which means that I can now take proper outfit photos again with a professional photographer!  My lovely sister in law is an absolute pro (check out her blog) and she takes some gorgeous photos. So I was lucky enough to nab her for a few minutes to take mine! This outfit is all about the jacket, I am literally in love! I chose this jacket from the bloggers event a couple of weeks ago and it arrived this week and I have been dying to wear it since! I wore it to the Bbloggers Christmas party on Saturday aswell and got so many lovely compliments about it! I first saw Millie on Made In Chelsea wearing a similar jacket a few weeks ago and knew I needed one from then! I have a feeling it is going to be copied by every brand around and in a matter of weeks, everyone will have one, like the famous camo jacket! But I don't care I still love it! Also check out my new boots, another amazing F&F item which look so expensive and are super comfy!!

Sanctuary Top to Toe Prima Ballerina

I received this gorgeous Sanctuary Spa ‘Top to Toe Prima Ballerina’ gift set the other day to pamper and preen to the max. The set was inspired by Darcey Bussell and I didn't know this, but The Sanctuary Spa in Covent Garden was originally set up 35 years ago as a place for ballerinas at the Royal Ballet to go to enjoy treatments and relax tired muscles! I don’t do much dancing these days but I am always on my feet so this was the perfect gift for me and is the ultimate in relaxing and revitalising.

I received the gift set last week when I was feeling really ill and sorry for myself, and it cheered me up so much. I had a big pamper session and used all the products, and began to feel like myself again!

The gift set includes: A foaming bath soak, body lotion, luxury foot polish, intensive rescue heel balm, brightening radiance exfoliator, brightening moisture boosting mask and a gorgeous little pair of ballet slippers. I must say, the foot scrub and heel balm were my favourite. I, like many people I’m sure, tend to neglect my feet a little bit in the winter when they are constantly shoved inside boots and 3 layers of socks. However, taking some time to scrub and moisturise them was heavenly, before putting on my little ballet slippers to let the moisturiser sink in. The brightening exfoliator and mask were also divine. Winter skin is not the prettiest and all the hot and cold dries out my skin no end, so the mask was a real drink for thirsty skin and I felt glowy and radiant afterwards! I only left it on for 10 minutes but if you want a really deep treatment you can leave it on overnight for an intense treatment! And how could I forget, all these products come in a gorgeous orange wash bag with purple lining and zip which actually looks and feels really expensive! I tend to be over-run with wash bags and similar things from receiving gift sets at Christmas and I normally just end up throwing them out or giving them away because they are never great quality. However, this one is really good quality and looks lovely, so I will definitely be keeping it as my overspill washbag!

If anyone is looking for a last minute Christmas gift then I would highly recommend this for any ladies that deserve a good pamper. For £20, and all those products, it is a pretty good deal I think, especially perfect for any budding ballerinas or dancers among your friends and family.

The gift set is available online and from Boots stores.

Bbloggers Xmas Party

Yesterday I was lucky enough to go along to the Beauty Bloggers Christmas Party hosted by the fabulous Victoria and Lola. I didn't realise how big the event was going to be but when I got there I was pleasantly surprised. The event was held in the Reebok bar in Canary Wharf, which had the most stunning views and was the perfect venue for a load of beauty obsessed girls to come together and talk all things beauty and all things blogging! There were some brands there showcasing their products, along with the offer of manicures, hand massages and hair curling. I managed to get a cheeky hand massage and got my hair curled with these amazing curling tongs from Diva, which I may have to add as a late addition to my Christmas list!!

Anyone who knows me will know I am also a big food fan and the party didn't disappoint! We had the most delicious cake pops which are to die for..I may have had 3!! Aswell as pop-chips the latest fashionable food to be seen with! I also met some absolutely lovely people and learnt about some new brands and products.

When we left we were given a huge goody bag which I didn't peek inside until today...and wow, it is literally amazing! So many great products which I cannot wait to test out and I will be reviewing my favourites!

All in all, I had a fabulous time and thank you to Lola and Victoria for putting so much hard work into organising everything!
