Origins Modern Friction and Drink Up Mask

You may have read my post a couple of weeks ago about my wonderful facial at Origins which left me feeling like a goddess. As I mentioned before, I have only tried a couple of things from Origins, which I loved, so I was excited to try more. After my facial, where my skin was analysed and I found out what products were best suited to me, I was sent a few of their products to test out. I am going to review two of my absolute favourites, the Modern Friction and the Drink Up Intensive Mask.

Firstly, the Modern Friction was a miracle product! It is described as "Nature's gentle dermabrasion" which sums it up wonderfully. The natural and organic ingredients means that there are absolutely no nasty or chemical ingredients involved and the mask is 100% good for your skin. Modern Friction is designed to be used on clean dry skin to give your face a proper good scrub, or with a little bit of water if you need to be a bit more gentle. I used a tiny pea-sized drop which was plenty for my face and massaged into my skin in circular motions. I used it on dry skin to begin with then added a touch of water to create more of a wash. After a minute of scrubbing, I washed it off with warm water and my skin felt amazingly soft and glowy.

I then followed this with the Drink Up Intensive Mask. The mask is designed to be applied before bed and slept in to "quench skin's thirst" overnight. The instructions didn't say whether to apply after or instead of a moisturisor, so I just skipped the moisturisor stage and used this instead as I think it would of been a bit too heavy to use both. I layered on a generous helping, which was probably a little more then needed, and fell straight asleep. I woke up with my skin feeling refreshed and hydrated. I'm sure like many others, my skin is a nightmare in winter and the weather dries it out so much, I always end up with dry patches all over the place. So I would say this product is perfect for winter and for giving skin that extra bit of moisture that it needs. The only downside of this product, which is probably me being really picky  is I don't like the idea of going to bed with your face covered in product because it means you either have to lie on your back or risk your pillow getting all greasy! However, when I used it the second time, I applied it about an hour before bedtime and it sunk in before my head hit the pillow, therefore no dirty pillow worries!

Overall, I would completely recommend both of these products, They are great by themselves, or even better used together to scrub off the nasty dry skin then replenish it with moisture! It depends what you are after  but if you want to try Origins for the first time, I would pick my one hero product as the Modern Friction, it really does leave your skin glowing! Origin products are available from beauty counters or online.
