Events, Events, Events

One of the favourite parts of my job is organising and attending press events, be it for journalists, make-up artists or bloggers. Recently we have had 2 events, both within a couple of weeks of each other. The first was for the wonderful skincare brand Weleda. Weleda were launching their new haircare range which offers very wholesome ingredients as the brand believes in a very natural approach to its products and its branding. The event was at a gorgeous little French cafe called Truc Vert just off Oxford Street, the perfect location and setting for the brand. The space was decorated with flowers, wheat and fruit, all representing the different ranges from Weleda. It was a breakfast event so while the journalists all enjoyed their yummy lemon and pomegranate muffins and the like, they were treated to a talk from the Weleda girls to explain exactly what the brand was all about. The event was a huge success and everyone had a great time finding out about the brand and indulging in the delicious breakfast on offer.

The second event, which was held on an evening in Marylebone, was for the American make-up and skincare brand Pur Minerals. This event was for make-up artists and bloggers to enjoy finding out about the brand whilst indulging in some yummy sushi and champagne. It was a really fun night of mingling and testing out the products. I love Pur Minerals products and it was nice to see everyone else enjoying them and getting excited about the brand!

Gold Specks

Finally, a little bit of sunshine, with a huge emphasis on little! With the sudden winter which has come upon us very quickly compared to the glorious sunshine of a couple of weeks ago, it was nice to have a little glimmer again, although I'm sure it won't last long! Enough for some outfit photos though! Now that it's getting dark crazy early it's impossible to find time to take photos. I leave in the morning for work and it's dark and I come home and it's dark! Anyway, enough of my moaning, this is an outfit I pulled together using some old clothes that I found in my wardrobe whilst having a huge clear out recently. I did a car boot sale last weekend (which involved waking up at 6am on a Sunday!!) and I managed to make myself £120 selling all my old clothes! Pretty chuffed. However, it has made me realise that I buy waaayyyy too many clothes. therefore, I am trying to bring to life some of my oldies, and here is the evidence!

Estee Lauder Sensuous Nude Perfume

Anyone who works in PR knows that the end of summer only means one thing...Christmas! Christmas is the hot topic of conversation as the summer sadly comes to an end and the winter months draw in. It is the time when Christmas gifts are everywhere and thoughts turn to which shower gel set you should get your brother or make up set for your mum. I love receiving beauty gift sets for Christmas and especially when they contain perfume!! So when I was sent this beautiful box set from Estee Lauder I had to share as part of my top gifts in the run up to Christmas. (I know you probably hate me for talking about it already!!) I am a huge fan of Estee Lauder products and love their perfumes even more. I have used the Sensuous perfume before which smells absolutely delicious, so couldn't wait to try the new offering, Sensuous Nude.

The perfume smells delightful, it's definitely more of a scent for winter compared to the previous and is slightly more woody and spicy, perfect for Christmas time! The set came with a moisturisor as well which they call a 'body veil'! This was heavenly and unlike most heavily perfumed moisturisers, it was really thick and creamy and didn't irritate my sensitive skin at all.

All in all this little set is the perfect gift for Christmas or just as a treat for yourself! It's available from Harrods priced at £42.

Trevor Sorbie Hair Experience

At the weekend I was treated to a fabulous wash and blow dry at the gorgeous Trevor Sorbie salon in Covent Garden as part of their London Fashion Week 'Happy Hours'. The team are involved in a number of huge shows during fashion week, from Erdem to Topshop Unique to Mary Katrantzou, I was in expert hands and couldn't wait to see what they would do with my hair! Trevor Sorbie Covent Garden has been regarded as the benchmark of creativity and is well known for their strong history and professional approach. Each stylist in the salon has been trained by Trevor himself and they are only allowed on the salon floor when they pass a final test. With all this in mind, I knew I was in very capable hands!

My stylist Frederico was wonderful and talked me through exactly how he was doing my hair and all the tips and tricks so I could re-create the look at home. After a super relaxing wash and head massage, my ridiculously thick and long hair was dried by two stylists which still took forever! Frederico then talked me through how he would do my hair and got to work by curling tiny sections then pinning them up ready to be unravelled at the end and unveil my huge, glamourous hair! What do you think of it?

I was also given a very generous goody bag of some Trevor Sorbie favourites which I can't wait to try!

Finally, as a special treat, Trevor Sorbie are offering all my readers an exclusive 25% off treatments at the salon. With prices starting at £39 for a blow dry, it's the perfect pampering experience! To claim it you just need to ring the salon before the 1st October to make an appointment and quote 'Trevor Sorbie Covent Garden'. Enjoy!

Topman LFW After Party and Motel Dress

Last night I went along to the Topman London Fashion Week after party at a funky little venue called Casa Negra in Shoreditch. Upon arrival we were given a 'secret' stamp, only visible under UV light and shown down the stairs to the underground bunker-style venue. It all felt very underground and exclusive! The venue was pretty much a nightclub with old school toys and light bulbs hanging from the ceiling and trendy looking people all over the place dancing away to the hip hop tunes. A set from DJ Zara Martin got everyone very excited and we were dancing all through the night! I also managed a cheeky celeb spot, none other than my fave funny man, Rick Edwards!

Sneaky Rick Edwards snap!
I wore my brand new Motel Rocks dress to the event which I am in love with! I have wanted a red dress for a while now and I love the neckline of this one and how it's just a casual t-shirt shift dress but the slits give it a bit of edge. I wore it with my favourite new shoes, which are super comfy and go with everything!

GLAMGLOW SuperMud Review

Some of you may know that I started a new job recently at a beauty PR agency. It is every girls dream to work in an office surrounded by beauty products all day long! Due to my job I get the opportunity to try some new and amazing beauty products and after a few trials, one of my absolute favourite products that I have discovered is GLAMGLOW Supermud. Now, I am not just writing this because I work for the brand, but because this product is literally a miracle worker and I have to share it with you if you haven't tried it yet.

So first of all, Supermud claims it is "the worlds most scientifically advanced mud clearing treatment, created to help fight all common skin concerns from blemishes to blackheads, razor burns to ingrown hairs. It helps with the brightening and evening of the complexion; creates a more youthful and smooth skin tone; improves elastin and collagen; de-clogs and minimises pore size and fights unwanted breakouts, by reducing redness and super-speeding the healing process." It has many celebrity fans such as Jennifer Aniston and Miley Cyrus and celebrity make up artists swear by it for their clients.

After cleansing, you apply the mask to your entire face if you want a a complete skin clearing treatment, or just to problem areas for one-offs. I have only used this product 3 times so far and each time on my entire face, which I try to do once every 10 days or so. However, I am intrigued to use it on in-grown hairs and see if it works as well! The mask goes on and looks absolutely horrible (as most masks do), therefore  I didn't want to scar you with photos of me wearing it as many other bloggers have...I'm just not ready to reveal photos like that of myself online! Anyway, it goes on and dries pretty quickly and in doing so you can suddenly see little spots of oil and dirt coming out of your pores!  I like to leave the mask on for about 15 minutes to make sure it has done its work, then I wash off using a muslin cloth and wiping in circular motions to get rid of the mask and all the stuff that's come out of my pores! Yum! You are then left with beautifully clear and radiant skin. My skin has literally never felt so clean after using this product for the first time and it is now a firm staple in my skincare routine!

All of this is fabulous, but there is one drawback  The price! At £44.99 for a 30ml jar, it certainly doesn't come cheap! But if you want to treat yourself to this beauty, then your skin will definitely thank you for it!

Have you ever tried Supermud or any of the other GLAMGLOW products?
