Kimono Bling

Hello lovely people! Here is a little outfit post for you featuring my new favourite statement piece. I love this kimono, it's so versatile and goes with everything. It has definitely become a new wardrobe statement and I will be wearing it all the time. This big blingy necklace is something I bought when I was about 13 when I went on a German exchange trip at school! I used to love it and then re-found it recently and decided to brush off the cobwebs! I wore this outfit for a chilled weekend with the boy for a spot of shopping and a trip to the cinema, as well as making our Halloween costumers for next weekend... you might see some photos if you're lucky!

I've Been Shopping...

I feel like I haven't had a proper good shop in FOREVER. Therefore, last weekend during a weekend away to Bournemouth to visit my friend, I indulged in some good old retail therapy, and my god, did it feel good! I forgot how much I love proper shopping in an actual shop and trying things on and getting excited about a new buy. Recently the only things I seem to buy are online as I just don't have time to go to town for a day of shopping. Therefore I thought I would treat myself now that I am a full time working lady. I didn't go crazy at all, as I find it hard to part with my hard earned cash more and more these days as I am such a saver, but I bought a few beaut items which I can't wait to wear!

I have wanted some smart/formal joggers for ages now and can never find the right pair. They are either really unflattering or the proportions are all wrong. So when I tried on these beauts I was so happy that they were the perfect fit and super comfy too!

H&M- £19.99
The Primark in Bournemouth was huge and so much better than most Primarks I have been to. Primark is normally my idea of hell and I try to avoid it at all costs, but this time it was quite a pleasant shopping experience and I managed to find this cute little skirt. The price label said £9 and when I went to the till, it rang up as £5! Bargain! I love it when that happens.
Primark- £5
This is my new favourite thing ever! Having tried on a few lovely kimono jackets in Topshop I couldn't quite find the perfect one. Then I found this one in H&M. I love the detailed print on the back and the fringing at the bottom. It is the perfect Autumn cover up and I am sure I will be wearing it all the time!
H&M- £24.99
I am such a sucker for all the little bits and pieces they line up in the lead up to the till.  I spotted this little collar in the sale for £2 and I just had to have it! I am planning on adding it to a plain jumper to jazz it up a little and keep my neck that little bit warmer this winter!
H&M- £2

I also popped along to Matalan this weekend and spent my vouchers that I received from the #MatalanMovieClub event a couple of weeks ago. I bought this gorgeous little dress which you are not going to believe was in the kids section. Yes that's right, this dress is aged 12-13 years!! And it fits me perfectly! I suppose there are upsides to being ridiculously short and the size of a child! Plus it was a bargain £6!

I also got these tailored shorts which will be perfect with thick tights and boots for winter. Another bargain at £10!

And finally, to finish off my extremely monochrome theme, I bought this cute little clutch bag. I love the furry texture on this bag which I have noticed seems to be everywhere at the moment. This will be the perfect 'going out' clutch to go with everything!

What do you think of my recent purchases? Have you done some retail therapy recently?

Raining Mint

In typical British fashion, just as I decided to take some outfit photos, it started chucking it down with rain! I didn't let the rain win and decided to carry on with my plans and add the best autumnal accessory to my outfit, an umbrella! It actually worked out pretty well as the rain makes these photos look pretty cool! I'm trying to hold on to the summer for as long as possible and refuse to put my tootsies away for the winter just yet! Although considering the freezing temperatures of the last few days, that is sure to change pretty soon!

Matalan Movie Club

On Saturday I went along to an amazing event held by Matalan. It was held at the highly prestigious 5 star Bvlgari Hotel in Knightsbridge. The hotel itself was very swanky and the staff were all extremely friendly and welcoming. On entering we were greeted with a lovely glass of champagne and some delicious canap├ęs. We had mini burgers, asparagus with parma ham and salmon blinis followed by the yummiest macaroons! I have never tried macaroons before and was so excited to see what all the fuss is about... now I understand! They were amazing!!
After some chatting and mingling with the other bloggers and meeting lots of new lovely girls we were then taken to the hotels private cinema room! With a top up of champagne and a bag of popcorn, we took our seats to watch the film- A Midnight in Paris. Before the film started we had a little talk about the brand from Ruth. She told us about their plans for the future of Matalan, with hopes of bringing stores to the high street within the next year as opposed to just being in retail parks. This will make the brand more accessible as, especially for me, I don't have any Matalan stores close to me so it will be great to have a store in the capital. They are also working on making the brand more fashion-forward and seen as a brand for young, fashionable women.
After the short talk, the film began. Not knowing what to expect from it, I was pleasantly surprised and absolutely loved the film, very different to what I was expecting. It was the perfect romantic comedy but with a deeper meaning and made me really, really want to go to Paris! As ever at these kind of events, I always have way too much fun and forget about taking photos! So here are a few rubbish quality photos that I managed to snap.

Black and White

Introducing my new favourite shoes! I've had these shoes for over a while now and they are already looking very worn as I seem to be wearing them all the time! But they are so god damn comfy! For me, this is a miracle as I've previously mentioned, no shoes are comfy! This is a very monochrome outfit so I decided to make all the pictures black and white, arty, no? I also love this white blazer so much, it goes with everything and adds a little bit of brightness to the dull winter days.
