Skincare Empties

I have come to that time when all of my favourite beauty products are running out on me all at the same time. A beauty girls worst nightmare! However, as a silver lining to my cloud, this gives me the opportunity to write a little 'empties' post for you about these great products which I have come to the end of and will more than likely be replacing.

So first up is the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic. I actually received this product in the amazing goody bag from the Nottingham Bloggers Meet Up about a year ago now, and being one of those people who likes to finish one product before moving onto the next, I patiently kept this stored away for a while. When I started using it (along with the infamous Cleanse and Polish) it was like a breath of fresh air for my skin. The routine just works wonders and I use this toner every evening as a great wayof finishing off my routine before moisturising. It ensures that my skin is completely clean and fresh before applying more product to it. Shockingly, even after double cleansing I sometimes wipe this one with a cotton wool pad and still find some dirt comes off on the pad. It contains organic aloe vera, as well as calendula, chamomile, cucumber and Vitamin E, all amazing ingredients for soothing and refreshing the skin. I will definitely be re-purchasing this beauty again!

Secondly, is my all time favourite face tanner, Lancome Flash Bronzer. This is the second bottle of the stuff I have bought and I have already got another one lined up for this ones departure. This stuff really is great and gives your face a subtle natural tan with absolutely no chance of streaks or mess. I use this every once and a while when I tan my body so that I am even and to give my face an extra glow. I don't like using tanning product which say they are for body and face as I think they are two completely different types of skin, so I like having one which is specifically designed for the face. It really is the best one I have ever used and so glad I discovered this gem!

Next is my beautiful little pot of Steamcream. This is the second pot I have got through in about a year. This stuff says it is for face, body and hands, but I just tend to use it on my face as a night cream and occasionaly on my dry hands as I think it is too good for the body! Some people don't like the smell of it, but I love it. I think it smells really comforting and homely. It is just a really nice moisturiser which gives the right amount of moisture without being oily or greasy. I just use this in the evening as I think the smell also helps me relax. I am not sure whether I will be repurchasing this one just yet as I have so many more night creams lined up to use next. But I am sure it will creep back into my routine at some point in the future!

Next is a little gem I have had for a while, the Paw Paw and Honey Organic Balm. If you have never tried Paw Paw balm then you are massively missing out. This is a thing of miracles! I discovered paw paw when I was travelling in Australia as they use it for everything over there. It is amazing on lips, hands, dry skin, cuts, bruises, burns... just about anything you can think of! It really is a miracle balm and I can't get enough of it. After running out of my supplies, I ordered some more online and also decided to try this version with honey in it as well. It is all compeltely organic and certified and does not contain any chemical nasties which are so often found in balms. I mostly use this on my lips as a lip balm but it is also great on small patches of eczema too! I will definitely be repurchasing this, along with the original Lucas Paw Paw ointment!

Finally, we have an absolute classic, the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream. I am not suprised this is so well-loved and iconic as it is such a great product! I use this for very similar things as I do the Paw Paw balm and mostly on my lips. I also love using it on my eyelids sometimes to give them a bit of a sheen, or on my eyelashes before bed to moisturise. This mini tube is great for travelling and I take it everywhere with me as it is such a multi-functional product and a great space saver! Like with the Paw Paw, I also use it on dry patches of skin and eczema to give it some more moisture. I will defintely be repurchasing this one too once I have squeezed the very last drop out!

So there you have it, my round up of my current empties which I am very sad have seen their last days! Have you tried any of these products? What do you think of them?

  1. I've always wanted to try the Liz Earle skin care products, I didn't get on with a Clinique range so perhaps this will solve my skin woes! xx

  2. Oh I think you're made the bags even 'more better' , as my sister would say when we were little kids. Have you thought about submitting some of your re-purposed purses to Harte classic handbags and designer inspired handbags magazine. I think you should.
