Going Dotty

I am a bit obsessed with polka dots at the moment aren't I!? I am considering wearing this shirt with my spotty trousers from my last outfit post here. What do you think? Anyway, this is a casual outfit that I wore at the weekend for a bit of shopping. It is my birthday next month, and being the very organised and planned person that I am, I thought it was high time I started doing some birthday shopping and deciding what I want. I have asked my boyfriend to get me some nice designer sunglasses. I have never had a nice pair of sunglasses, I am a Primark and H&M sunnies kinda girl, but I want to invest in some good quality ones which will last me years. I want a classic style that suits my chubby round face but finding it so hard to choose just one pair! Anyone got a recommendation for a good brand..?

I also wanted to show you my new phone case which I think goes perfectly with this outfit! The gorgeous design is just what I was looking for for my new white phone, so I was over the moon when the lovely people at Iconemesis sent me this one. What do you think?

Shirt- River Island

Early Easter in The Isle of Wight

A couple of weekends ago we did Easter early. Every Easter me and my family normally go to the Isle of Wight for Easter weekend and stay in our little house down there for a weekend of sunshine, beach walks and easter egg hunts. However, as we rent out the house during the summer season, there was a booking for actual Easter weekend, so we decided to go down and just pretend it was Easter! This time I went with my Mum and Dad and my boyfriend, as my brother and his wife had work commitments. Of course, we didn't have the whole bank holiday weekend so it was rather rushed, driving down straight from work on Friday evening and not arriving at the house until well past 11pm. However, we spent the Saturday and Sunday just completely chilling out. We made pain au chocolats, went for walks on the beach (despite the wind and rain), we played games, watched weekend tv and ate and drank a lot. As well as mum surprising us with a mini easter egg hunt! We have an easter egg hunt every year when we go as the garden is perfect for it, however, due to the horrible weather, we had to have it inside the house this year. Not quite the same but resulted in chocolate still so of course I was happy! All in all it was a lovely, chilled weekend spending some quality time with the people I love. And now I get to do Easter weekend all over again- Happy Easter everyone!

The Battle of the Face Oils

I only recently discovered the wonders of facial oils and have been completely converted. I love using oil on my face instead of a moisturiser a few times a week to give my skin an extra boost and some much needed moisture. I currently have 3 favourite facial oils which I alternate between depending on my needs.

The first facial oil I bought was the Champneys Moisturising Facial Oil, which as you can see, is very well used. I love this oil for everyday use, and often add a drop to my usual moistursier to give an extra bit of moisture. This one is really soothing and simple and smells delicious. It has quite a rich texture so you only need a tiny drop for your face. Therefore, it lasts forever. I have had this bottle for about 2 years now and it is still going!

The second oil I use is the Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate. This is more of an elixir and not as 'oily' as the other two. I often use this before applying a moisturiser as well at night time as I find it is not quite moisturising enough on its own. The oil is described as "a replenishing elixir of pure essential oils and distilled botanicals to visibly restore the appearance of skin by morning." I use this by putting 2-3 drops on my hands then rubbing them together and breathing the smell in deeply before patting it gently into the skin. The natural scent is so relaxing and always helps me to sleep. I would highly recommend it as a weekly treatment for tired or dull skin.

And finally, I have saved the best 'til last. My all time favourite facial oil is the Antipodes Divine Face Oil with Avocado Oil and Rosehip. This is an absolute hero product of mine and works wonders on tired, dull skin. I use this before bed after cleansing my face instead of a moisturiser. I 'push' it into my skin rather than rubbing as this helps it to penetrate further. I always wake up with glowy, soft skin the morning after and my face feels bright and fresh all day. I use this about 2 or 3 times a week or whenever I need a boost.

Have you tried any of these oils?

Mummy Day

Last Sunday I took my mum up to London for Mothers Day. We hadn't had a day out in London for ages as working up there during the week, the last thing I want to do at the weekend is face the long train journey and hustle and bustle again. However, my mum had been begging me for a while so I thought it was about time. I managed to get some cheap tickets for the West End show- The Commitments which I suprised her with a few days before and then we planned our little day trip around that.

We decided to go up quite early and make the most of it. As it was a beautiful sunny day we managed to see London at its finest. We originally planned to go straight to The Breakfast Club for brunch as soon as we arrived. However, coming round the corner of the street we soon realised this was an unnobtainable feat....! Forgetting that it was a Sunday morning and prime brunch time, we hadn't anticipated the queue for the infamous brekkie spot. The queue went all the way down the street! We decided it probabaly wasn't worth the wait and went exploring to find elsewhere for a spot of brunch. We were planning on going to our classic
- Pain Le Quotidien, however we noticed a great little bar next to it and decided to give that a try instead. It was a place called Central & Co right opposite Liberty's. Although the decor inside was lovely, we decided to make the most of the British sunshine and sat outside to appreciate it. We had a delicious brunch of Heuvos Rancheros followed by granola and a side of iced coffee. It was absolutely delicious and the perfect breakfast to set us up for the day. We then popped into my favourite place- Ben's Cookies to grab a cheeky snack for the theatre later!

Next we headed over to Camden. I love Camden in the sunshine, it feels like you are in another country with all the food stalls and amazing smells! We had an explore of the markets and into the Stables, which my Mum had never been to before. We soon lost track of time and rushed back to Leicester Square for our matinee show.

The Commitments was great with some good sing along songs and lots of dancing at the end! After the show we headed to a bar opposite the theatre for some happy hour mojitos! Me and Mum can't seem to go anywhere without having a mojito...and as it was happy hour 2 4 1,of course we had to have double the amount! A little too much rum later, it was time for food. We decided to go over to Goodge Street area where there is an abundance of food places. We fancied a Pan Asian type food so settled on Dim T, which does the yummiset food. We had quite a large selecton, and of course, eyes bigger then our bellies. After stuffing ourselves, it was time to head home on the long commute.

All in all, we had another wonderful day out, the perfect Mothers Day and some great quality time with my mum!
