I'm Going to America! - What's In My Suitcase?

I am off to America tomorrow (woohoo!) so I thought I would share a little 'what's in my suitcase' post with you! I am such a loser when it comes to packing and love planning what I am going to take weeks in advance and lay it all out on my bed very prematurely. However, this holiday, I left very to the last minute. I think because it is not my usual summer holiday to a hot destination where all I need to think about is flip flops and bikinis. I found packing for this trip very tricky as I have no idea what the weather will be like and I need a lot of practical clothing.

I am off to New Jersey to visit family before heading to New York for a few days and then I will be doing a little road trip up the East Coast to Boston, Maine and exploring New England. I am hoping the weather will be nice and hot so I am mostly taking summer clothes, with a few pairs of trousers and boots chucked in just in case!

The thing I am most excited about is being able to wear my new bikinis. I have got 2 new bikinis recently just for my holidays and I can't wait to wear them. I received my Triangl bikini from my boyfriend for my birthday which I was very happy about! I also received this gorgeous tassle bikini from George at Asda which I am in love with! I just hope I have enough time to wear them both! Both bikinis are super flattering as the Triangl one really holds you in and pushes you up in all the right places. And the George one is perfect for my slightly pear-shaped body as all the tassles makes it look like I have boobs and the high cut pants are really flattering on my chunky thighs!

Working in beauty PR, I also have an abundance of beauty products which I now can't live without. Therefore, my toilet bag seems to take up half of my suitcase! I always try as hard as I can to take as few products as possible and condense them down into small bottles for space saving. I think I have done quite well this time, and especially as me and my mum will be sharing a lot of things, I have managed to be quite concise. Here are just a few of my favourite holiday minis. I love buying mini versions of products to take on holiday with me. As well as saving much needed space, they just look so much cuter as well don't they!?

After looking through the clothes I am planning to take, it seems the colour theme I am going for is blue, white and black! This wasn't planned but I suppose works out quite well. Hopefully I can manage to make a few good outfits out of this lot! So there you have it, a little insight into what I am packing. Of course, I have plenty more clothes, toilettries and bits and pieces coming with me but that's the boring stuff! Have you got any holidays coming up?

Spots and Stripes

Another weekend, another post of me posing in my garden! This is the last weekend I have before I go off to America next Saturday so I spent it doing some last minute shopping for holiday minis and essentials and doing a lot of pre-holiday pampering and preening. I am finding it particularly hard to decide what to pack as I have no idea what the weather will be like- do I pack bikinis or jackets... I think I will end up going overboard just so I am prepared for all circumstances!

Anyway, another outfit wearing my favourite spotty trousers. This time I decided to clash it a little with a stripy top and my pastel jacket which I keep forgetting I have. I bought this jacket from Camden market and it is probably stolen or off the back of a lorry but I love it, and very handy for the in between cold and hot weather we are having! Anyway, this will probably be my last outfit post for a while but I will definitely be returning with lots of fun American road trip photos and holiday outfit pics when I return! Now, best get packing!

Diego Dalla Palma Spring/Summer Collection

Diego Dalla Palma is not a brand I had come across until recently. It is another brand that my company looks after and since working with them I have fallen in love with their products. It is an Italian brand, sold in Marks and Spencer and Debenhams over here. I recently went to an M&S Beauty event where I helped out the brand by being the 'model' for a demonstration of the products. An international make-up artist for the brand did my make-up using all the new Spring/Summer collection, which have some amazing products that I wanted to share with you.

All the new collection is really highly pigmented and high quality so you get a really strong colour which won't budge. A lot of them are also water-resistant so last forever! I would never normally wear eyeshadow and when I do it would just be a really subtle beige or browny colour. So wearing the bright blue on my eyelids was a bit of a shock for me, but I loved it. The turquoise colour really brought out the blues of my eyes and the deep electric blue complimented it perfectly. I think my favourite product is the double ended kajal pencil, which is gives such a rich colour and can be used day or night. The lipstick colours are also to die for and are the most long-lasting lipsticks I have tried. The bright pink colour pictured here is the perfect shade, and I know I will be rocking it a lot on holiday!

Finally, I think I have found my new favourite foundation! The Oil Free Foundation is the perfect consistency for Spring- just enough coverage without being too heavy. I find it so hard to find the right foundation, so when the make up artist used this on me, my skin felt flawless.

Overall, I am really impressed with Diego Dalla Palma's products and would highly recommend them.
