Radical Skincare- Radical Protection Kit

Radical Skincare is a brand I hadn't come across until recently. I picked up this little set at the Chalk PR Christmas event a few weeks ago and I have been using it ever since.

Radical Skincare is an anti ageing skincare line formulated to protect and rejuvenate skin. The key to the Radical Skincare line is their Patented Trylacel Technology which maintains the potency of active ingredients by up to 300% by combining Multiple Antioxidants, Anti Ageing Active Ingredients and soothing Ingredients which enables maximum benefits and quick results.

The Radical Protection Kit contains the Advanced Peptide Antioxidant Serum and the Skin Perfecting Screen SPF30. I have been using both these products together as part of my skincare routine the last couple of weeks and I am loving the results.
I begin with the Advanced Peptide Antioxidant Serum, which I apply both morning and night after cleansing.  Once you get past the ultra long, fancy name, in essence it is an anti-aging serum meant to improve skin firmness and complexion as well as skin tone. The serum works to fight all 16 identified causes of ageing and has 13 active ingredients that work to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, even skin tone and improve skins elasticity and firmness. Although, at 23, I might not quite be ready for anti-ageing skincare,  I think the earlier you start, the better, Rather than waiting for ageing to set in, if you start with these kind of products early on you can defend against the signs of premature ageing (hopefully!).

The texture of this serum is very light and does not feel heavy on the skin. It has a light, pleasant scent, which isn't too overpowering. As I've only been using this product for a couple of weeks, I can't say too much about whether it has any long-term effects on the appearance of my skin, but the serum definitely has a skin plumping and smoothing effect in the short term. My skin feels hydrated (but not greasy) and looks smooth and radiant.
After applying the serum, I then use the Skin Perfecting Screen SPF30. As this is a cream designed to protect against sun damage, I only use it in the morning. The Skin Perfecting Screen protects against environmental aggressors and UV damage to halt the signs of ageing. I always make sure my day cream has an SPF of at least 15, and as this has 30, so even better! The moisturiser is also formulated without any chemicals, so you know it is not going to irritate your skin.

The lotion is lightweight and easy to apply and doesn't leave any colour on your skin, like so many high SPF face creams. It feels really nice and light on the skin and not like you are wearing a 'sunscreen'. The matte lotion also contains light diffusing pigments to visibly reduce the appearance of wrinkles and imperfections.

All in all, I love the effects this duo is having on my skin. My skin feels brighter and more radiant after using it and I have noticed an improvement in the tone of my skin. As I said, I have only been using them for a couple of weeks so can't comment on the long term effects, but from what I see, it is very promising!

The only, and very large, downside, is the price! At £75 for the set (available at Space NK),it is very pricey and definitely one you would add to your Christmas list as opposed to buying on a whim!
